Northern Trust Open Betting Picks

By Golf

The Northern Trust Open is the last stop for this years West Coast Swing and will be played at the familiar Riviera Country Club. This event always attracts a very strong field and this year is no different as five of the worlds top ten golfers will tee it up alongside the rest of the field as they battle it out on the 7, 322 yard, par 71 layout. James Hahn was last years winner as he managed to beat Dustin Johnson and Paul Casey in a playoff win. Rory Mcilroy makes his first PGA Tour start of the year and will look to hit the ground running with a win. The young Northern Irishman will once again pick up his rivalry with Jordan Speith this week in California and will very likely thrill the crowds as they did in Abu Dhabi a few weeks ago. This will give golf fans the chance to see the two brightest prospects battle it out again as they pull out all the shots and stops to ensure they are able to sit on the throne of world golf. This weeks tournament will provide a great chance to see the worlds best in action and will probably produce a winner from the top players in the game. The tour has seen a few relatively unknown names win in recent weeks but given that the season is already a month in, some of the better players around could well have warmed up properly and be looking to stamp their mark on the season.

Charl Schwartzel (+2500 BetOnline.ag)

The former Masters winner has already won twice on The European Tour this season and arrives in California after winning The Tshwane Open last week in South Africa. Schwartzel has been using the services of Dr. Sherylle Calder who has helped Els and Grace with their putting by offering a service called ‘Eye Gym’. It seems to be giving Schwartzel the edge over his competitors and the highly talented South African will look to make it 3 wins in 3 months.

Rory Mcilroy (+650 BetOnline.ag)

Rory Mcilroy is due a win and comes off the desert swing on The European Tour with momentum and form. It is always a case of whether Mcilory can get the putter working or not. His tee to green game is almost unbeatable but at times can’t seize the momentum as the putter goes off the boil. If he can get it working then he may well win for the first time this season.

Justin Rose (+1600 BetOnline.ag)

Justin Rose played some great golf last week to finish in a tie for 6th place at Pebble Beach. Rose will be playing with last years champion James Hahn and also former winner of this event Bubba Watson. If Rose plays to his full potential he could then possibly join his two playing partners as a champion of The Norther Trust Open.
