European Championship Darts Betting

By Darts

The 2011 European Championship Darts tournament is set to take place from July 28th to 31st.  With a field of 32 of the top darts players in the world and £200,000 on the line with £50,000 going to the winner this darts tourney will be one of the biggest of the year.  The biggest question on everyone’s mind is can anyone beat world number 1 Phil Taylor, who has won each of the previous 3 European Championship Darts tournaments!

European Championship Darts Winner Odds

Phil Taylor +150
Gary Anderson +650
James Wade +700
Adrian Lewis +1000
Raymond van Barneveld +1400
Simon Whitlock +1400
Wes Newton +1400

As you can see Phil Taylor is a huge favourite to repeat as champion of this event, but these other 6 players have other plans.  After Newton the odds drop off greatly to +2800 for Paul Nicholson and Mark Webster.  You should also check the odds at Bodog.com because scanning you can find quite different lines for certain players and getting the better odds can make a huge difference in payout.

Structure

Round 1 features best of 11 leg matches, with round 2 and the quarters going with best of 19 legs.  The semi’s and finals are each best of 21 legs.  This means that players better bring their A-game right from the start or they could be quickly eliminated seeing as round 1 is very short.
