Georgia entered the 2011-2012 season carrying high expectations. Many so called experts penciled them in as SEC East champs and some even had higher expectations for them. It hasn’t gone as planned on so many levels for the Bulldogs. They lost their opener against Boise St which is somewhat understandable and then they lost their conference opener against South Carolina which took their SEC chances out of their control.

It’s difficult to put your finger on what Georgia’s problem is. When you talk to Bulldog fans you hear its offensive coordinator Mike Bobo others point the finger at the top of the food chain in head coach Mark Richt. I tend to think it’s a combination of things combined with all the pressure of having so much expected from this team.

Ol’ Miss was never penciled in as SEC West contenders and from the look of things it’s for good reason. Actually the reason has more to do with Alabama and LSU being in the west than anything but with only 1 win and that being against Southern Illinois and after scoring only 7 points and allowing 30 to Vanderbilt it’s safe to say that this Ol’ Miss team has major problems. The loss to BYU appeared to be respectable even if it was at home but after watching BYU against Texas and Utah any respect has been lost.

While this game won’t be paving the way to an SEC conference title it very well could be sealing the deal on ending the losing coach’s time at his current school. In all honesty the winning coach here may still be in trouble at the end of the season but for this week at least Richt’s job will be safe.

I have Georgia winning 33-17.

Play: Georgia -9.5
