WGC-Mexico Championship Betting Picks

By Golf

The first WGC event of the year is upon us. The PGA Tour heads to Mexico and away from Trump Doral. There is always a sense of excitement during the build up to a WGC event. There is no cut at these events and every player walks away with a very handsome payday. Last place getting around fifty thousand dollars. There is a huge amount of incentive to play in a WGC event. It is always the best fields in the world (behind the majors obviously) that assemble at these world golf championship events. Rory Mcilroy makes his return after injuring himself in January during the South African Open. The Northern Irishman damaged his ribs and has sat out the last four events. Mcilroy played a round of golf with President Donald Trump last week and in doing so felt the wrath of a section of the public. He eventually released a statement insisting it was only a round of golf and not a political endorsement. The course this week is a beauty that will ask many questions of the players this week. The course itself is the Club de Golf Chapultepec which measures 7, 330 yards and plays as a par 71. Dustin Johnson will tee it up in his first WGC event as a world number one. He is in sensational form and will once again feel like he is the man to beat. It remains to be seen whether he will be affected by the number one tag in the world. Roll on the action under the Mexican sun…

Dustin Johnson (+650 BetOnline.ag)

The new number one in the world looks sensational at present. He has only finished outside the top 6 once since December and more impressively, Johnson has recorded 4 victory’s in 9 months. One of those wins included the U.S. Open. It seems there isn’t a thing DJ can’t do at the moment. Another win this weekend is highly likely and he will be expecting it too.

Martin Kaymer (+5000 BetOnline.ag)

Kaymer had a great week at the Honda Classic and ended up finishing for a tie of fourth. He looked back to his best as he dialed in to the flags with regular ease. If he can control his short game then there is every chance Kaymer will come out the traps flying in Mexico.

 Brandon Stone (+15000 BetOnline.ag)

The young South African has won twice on the European Tour this season. He looks to be a real talent and leads the South African order of merit which include players like Charl Schwartzel and Branden Grace. He’s got all the shots and the attitude to win big events. Watch out for this big talent this week.
