Travelers Championship Betting Picks

By Golf

There is always a bit of an underwhelming feeling after a major comes to an end. It proved to be a high scoring U.S. Open that Brooks Koepka managed to win. The American is proving to be more than just another young prospect. Koepka is beginning to show the golfing world that he is up there with the best of them. At 27 with a major under his belt one gets the feeling that Koepka is about to start challenging week in and out for the game’s biggest honors. It is goodbye to Memphis for now and off to Connecticut for the Travelers Championship. TPC River Highlands is the venue this week and measures 6, 841 yards and plays as a par 70. Quite a contrast to Erin Hills last week as TPC River Highlands measures close to a 1, 000 yards less. Defending champion Russell Knox is back with an eye to defending the championship he won last year. Rory Mcilroy is in the field after a hugely disappointing U.S. Open last week. The Northern Irishman missed the cut and was subject to the normal abuse after a man of his stature put in such a poor show. It has certainly raised questions about his commitment and passion for the game. Whether they are unfounded or not time will tell. A big showing in Connecticut this week will help to silence the doubters.

Brian Harman (+3300 BetOnline.ag)

Brian Harman had a stunning and very successful week at Erin Hills. The left-hander finished in second place and seemed to have found another gear to his game. He will come into  this week’s Travelers Championship with new found confidence. After performing so well in a major there is little doubt he now believes he is good enough to continue his upward trend.

Paul Casey (+2000 BetOnline.ag)

It is surely only a matter of time before Casey makes the jump from the bridesmaid to the bride. He has been the nearly man for a while now with a string of steady and consistent performances. He finished 26th last week at Erin Hills and looked on course for a great weekend until an indifferent Saturday. This week may well be different.

Rory Mcilroy (+900 BetOnline.ag)

With all the criticism Mcilroy has received this week it is hard to imagine that he won’t be fired up and ready to put on a world class show at TPC River Highlands. He will come out swinging and ready to win another PGA event.
