The Barclays Betting Picks

By Golf

What an exciting week at Sedgefield Country Club. The Wyndham Championship received a record amount of viewers according to CBS and that had to do with one man. Tiger Woods left it all out there in pursuit of a place in the FedExCup playoffs, eventually finishing 10th on thirteen under. Quite an effort and pure theater watching him try and get it done on the back 9. That is it now. The FedExCup standings have been decided and the first of four playoffs begin this week in Edison, New Jersey. The Barclays will be played at Plainfield Country Club which measures 7012 yards and is a par 70. At this stage of the season the money becomes outrageously high and can make your year seriously lucrative even if you’ve had quite a quiet one money wise. The combined purse this week is $8,250,000, with the winner walking away with $1,485,000 and 2000 FedEx cup points that will go a great deal in edging the eventual winner of the FedExCUP closer to the $10,000,000 bonus payout at the end of the 4th event. Despite this there are some noticeable absentees with Rory Mcilroy and Sergio Garcia part of the 6 players missing the first playoff. Otherwise all the big players have arrived in New Jersey and it promises to be a gunfight of epic proportions.

Matt Kuchar (+3300 BetOnline.ag)kuch

Matt Kuchar has a very good record in the FedExCup playoffs, he is always there or thereabouts and should be in the hunt at Plainfield Country Club this weekend. Having already won the 2010 Barclays in a playoff against Martin Laird, giving him the experience and know how required when it comes to winning these end of season events. There is no doubt he has been one of the most consistent performers on the tour for a number of years now. If Kuchar can get the putter to fire then he will undoubtedly be in the shake up on Sunday Evening.

Justin Rose (+1000 BetOnline.ag)

Justin Rose has been steadily getting his game back on track and will certainly win before the end of the season. Given the layout of Plainfield Country Club there is a lot that suggests this course will play right into Rose’s hands. A superb long iron player and equally good when peppering flags with his short irons. After watching him at Whistling Straits two weeks ago it is quite evident he is nearly back at his very best. If the putter wakes up from its icy slumber then he will be the man to watch.

Brooks Koepka (+2500 BetOnline.ag)

Brooks Koepka is a young golfer destined for the very top. He possesses amazing length off the tee and is a very good putter too. Plainfield Country Club isn’t the longest track in the world and Brooks should be able to be quite aggressive with his shot making. He also seems to be in a bit of form after finishing for a tie of 6th at the Wyndham Championship last week. Koepka has every chance of pulling off a stunning victory to kick his FedExCup chances into life.
