ISPS Handa World Cup of Golf Betting Picks

By Golf

The World Cup of Golf is back this week as the different competing nations head Down Under. The tournament will be played at Kingston Heath Golf Club. Measuring 7, 087 yards and playing as a par 72, it comes highly recommended. Ranked as the third best course in Australia, it’s picturesque layout is going to contribute towards a fantastic competition. The format is back to a 72 hole two-man team stroke play event. On the Thursday and Saturday the format will be foursomes and on the Friday and Sunday they will compete in four-balls. There are 28 teams taking part with two players on each team. The year may be winding down and the festive season approaching, and despite some seeing the World Cup of Golf as an exhibition match, there is still a huge amount of money to play for. The winning team will share $2, 56m between them. As good a payout as any regular event. It will be a welcome end to the year and provide much drama and hard fought competition. The Australians will fancy their chances as the hosts but that is about it as far as favorites go. Team golf doesn’t always pan out the way one might think. Especially after a long year, it may come down to whoever is the fresher team. The action should be nothing short of fantastic as the different nations battle it out for top honours at the World Cup of Golf.

The team of Nicolas Colsaerts and Thomas Pieters make a formidable one. They are both a couple of the biggest hitters in the game. If they can find some chemistry together then there’s a serious chance they will come close to being crowned champions DownUunder. Both have enjoyed good seasons, in particular Pieters, who has enjoyed a win and a remarkable debut Ryder Cup. They also seem to be quite good friends that enjoy spending time together. All the signs are there that these two Belgian bombers may go all the way at Kingston Heath.

Ireland (+1200 BetOnline.ag)

The Irish boys competing have a burning desire to win this tournament. Both Graeme Mcdowell and Shane Lowry are also good friends and will need no motivation before tee off on Thursday morning. They’ve both had quite a slow year and will want to end it on the right note. A World Cup winners medal will do just that.

Australia (+450 BetOnline.ag)

One can’t discard the host nation. Adam Scott and Marc Leishman are very good golfers and will be backed by a vociferous home crowd. If this Australian dream team can get some momentum going on early doors them there’s a good chance they will be able to go all the way.
