Cimb Classic Betting Picks

By Golf

The new season of the PGA Tour is still in its infancy as the players head across to Malaysia to compete in the CIMB Classic. This eastern stretch of the PGA Tour is always an intriguing one as the players play away in a foreign environment and far away from their comfort zones and usual vocal crowds back home. The Financial rewards on offer is the reason that a 78 man field has assembled. A $7, 000, 000 purse is up for grabs and should guarantee that we see some exciting golf all the way through until Sunday. The course this week is the TPC Kuala Lumpur West and plays as a par 72 and measures 7,005 yards. Last years champion Justin Thomas is back to defend the title he won when he beat Adam Scott down the stretch by one. Disaster beckoned for Thomas last year when he made a double bogey on 14 after miscuing a down hill lie into the water. The door was all of a sudden open for a number of players but Thomas bounced back like a true champion. Making 3 consecutive birdies to shut the door on any one thinking of make a move. It’s an exciting leg of the tour and should throw up more terrific story lines and situations. Keep an eye out for those looking to make early inroads trying to keep their PGA tour cards whilst the other big hitters are away. It’s ideally set up for them.

Paul Casey (+1200 BetOnline.ag)

The Englishman is in outstanding form. A victory for him can’t be far off as he now boasts 4 consecutive top 4 finishes. With a smaller field this week and the chance to finally win, Casey will be feeling very confident. Sooner or later Casey will indeed win and this week in Malaysia could present itself as the perfect opportunity.

Patrick Reed (+1200 BetOnline.ag)

This will be the first time that Patrick Reed tee’s it up since his impressive Ryder Cup showing. If he can bring 50% of the from that he showed against Rory Mcilroy during their singles match then he will walk away as the new Cimb Classic champion. He was on fire during the Ryder Cup and had putts dropping from different post codes around the green.

Russell Knox (+2500 BetOnline.ag)

With the dust still settling around the Ryder Cup, there will be one man that still wants to send former European Captain Darren Clarke a reminder of the mistake he made by not picking him. Russell Knox was playing the golf of his life last year and narrowly missed out on a Ryder Cup spot. He has unfinished business and will be desperate to prove he is one of the best in the world with a win at the Cimb Classic.
